A touch of Bond
Perched high above the sea lies the sophisticated Villa Quantum on Mallorca. Following the topography, the architecture opens up toward the sea, and generous transitions blur the boundaries between indoors and outdoors. As dusk falls, the light from Occhio takes center stage: it adds depth to the rooms, creates strategic accents, and carries the special atmosphere of this place into the night. In collaboration with the architectural firm Estudio Cano, an extraordinary estate was created in which architecture, nature, and light intertwine seamlessly.
Transformation and identity
Visual axes, sequences of spaces, transitions – Estudio Cano’s architecture creates a unique living environment made of steel, concrete, and precise silhouettes. Everything seems to float – from the honeycomb-shaped ceiling to the terraced levels that nestle against the slope. At the junctures between day and night, the architecture undergoes a gentle transformation, brought about by an evocative lighting concept that accompanies the shifting moods during these transitions, while also providing orientation and allowing the spaces to be experienced in all their clarity.
Beyond gravity
The character of the villa is defined by the interplay and interpenetration of the individual levels. Light reimagines the spaces and perspectives, guiding the viewer’s gaze and creating new axes – for example, with the Coro moon sospeso pendant luminaire above the dining table, complemented by the Coro moon alto surface-mounted luminaire above the freestanding kitchen island. With its cones of light, io verticale echoes the square ceiling pattern and extends its design concept all the way to the floor.
Across Rooms
Serving as both a light source and an eye-catcher, an installation consisting of 29 individually suspended Coro moon sospeso pendant luminaires connects the various levels and, as an impressive, luminous formation, gives the space a new atmospheric dimension. Achieving this effect required not only a professional eye for lighting design but also a delicate touch and technical expertise to mount the fixtures precisely within the wooden slats that form the upper edge of the striking concrete panels.

At his best
In an architectural design that integrates natural light and the surrounding landscape as seamlessly as this one does, smooth transitions of light from inside to outside – in terms of color, intensity, and positioning – are of crucial importance. As the day draws to a close, the night is gently ushered in – as here in the bedroom, where the Luna series literally brings the moon to life.
The Luna series impressively demonstrates its versatility: Luna sogno on the nightstand, Luna pura as an atmospheric haven of calm, or the Luna piena ceiling luminaire, which once again effectively highlights the three-dimensionality of the ceiling.
From full-bodied to silky smooth
The interplay of materials is what gives this project its special appeal. Hard concrete meets warm, inviting wood; clean lines are accompanied by soft light that echoes the high architectural standards and, with its atmospheric quality, almost softens the edges, corners, and geometric forms. The ability to translate the message of the built environment into the language of light is palpable here. Architecture and light engage in a balanced dialogue. The fact that this interplay was developed early in the planning phase is evident in the natural way in which the two elements interlock.
The equilibrium of motion
The wind, the waves, and the ever-changing play of light define the villa’s spacious outdoor areas. This expansive sense of freedom, enhanced by light, scents, and sounds, finds familiar anchors in the Luna pura portable luminaire, which – regardless of location – bathe any space in a relaxing atmosphere and bring a sense of tranquility. Enclosed in glass, this floating luminaire – featuring innovative fireball technology – gently brings the moon to life on the terrace during glorious summer evenings.

The iconic Mito largo luminaire stands for a design that characteristically shapes its surroundings, yet never pushes itself to the forefront, instead giving the stage to what it reveals. What was once intended for indoors is now also made for outdoors: the Mito largo outdoor will be available from spring 2027.
