A story of light, tea and atmosphere

Immerse yourself in the special atmosphere of Coro and Coro moon – and taste the ‘moon tea’ inspired by the luminaires. Enjoy a cup of exquisite white tea at home, dried using traditional methods in the moonlight.

The first infusion reveals a gentle smokiness, delicate and silky; the second is reminiscent of the warmth of ripe peaches; the third unfolds floral nuances.

A standard porcelain or glass pot can be used for the infusions. Traditionally, however, gaiwan lidded bowls and clay pots made of natural clay – for example from Yixing (China) or Tokoname (Japan) – are used, which bring out the character of the tea in a special way.

First rinse the teapot with hot water to preheat it. Then add 3 g (about 4 teaspoons) of moon tea to the pot and pour 250 ml of water at a temperature of 85 °C over it. The tea is prepared in four infusions, with steeping times of 180 seconds, 120 seconds, 180 seconds and 240 seconds.

After the recommended time for steeping, filter the tea infusion through a sieve or use a pot with an integrated sieve.
The tea leaves love to float freely, allowing them to release their best flavours.

Moon tea is harvested in the misty highlands of Yunnan in China, where altitude and tranquillity characterise its gentle light. Traditionally, it is dried not in the sun but in the moonlight – a method that gives the tea both its name and its subtle inner glow. Its large silver tips and almost black first leaves bear the memory of the tradition of moon drying, which was once practised in the open air.

Like Coro & Coro moon, it reflects a gentle radiance and transformative depth that illuminates not only a room, but also the reflective spaces within oneself. The interplay of clear form and sensual lighting effects creates an atmosphere of calm and concentration – a light that inspires, touches and refines the moment.
